Two years in development, the NL-1000 with MVPA™ timer is here. NEW-LIFESTYLES designed the NL-1000 specifically for you to assess and record your students' MVPA. There'll be no more question of accountability. And, best yet, NEW-LIFESTYLES NL-1000 is cost-effective. What's more, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to master it. No more chest straps, no gazillion-button watch band, and no fuss— anyone can master the NL-1000 in minutes!

Recent developments, like the federally mandated school wellness policies and the 2006 PEP Grant application, have thrown MVPA into the spotlight. Using the
NL-1000’s 7-day memory and MVPA™ timer, you will be able to determine in a matter of seconds if students have reached the 150 minutes of MVPA/week or 225 minutes of MVPA/week standard set by PEP grant administration or any other standard mandated in your state. (Don't forget to check out NEW-LIFESTYLES grants and funding section.)

Where are these recommendations for minutes of MVPA per week coming from?

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) has long published moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) recommendations for adults and children:

·Adults should engage in moderate-intensity physical activities for at least 30 minutes on 5 or more days of the week.
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/American College of Sports Medicine

·It is recommended that children and adolescents participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity most days of the week, preferably daily.
- Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005

We're confident teachers will master the NL-1000 in minutes and will find the NEW-LIFESTYLES accelerometer and the MVPA™ Timer an absolute necessity.

NEW-LIFESTYLES' MVPA Standards Assessment™ Kit includes the following:
·15 NEW-LIFESTYLES NL-1000 accelerometers packed in an organizer box
·15 Security Straps
·Teaching With Pedometers: A School Activity Guide by fitness and pedometer expert, Teresa Vollenweider
·EveryStepCounts.com registration codes for data collection

Are you budget-strapped, but REALLY want pedometers for your classroom?

Look no further, the AT-series hairspring pedometers are here!  NEW-LIFESTYLES is now an official distributor of Activity Technologies pedometers. Considered the best of the hairspring pedometers, they're a great option for the budget-strapped who don't need high-end pedometers, like DIGI-WALKER pedometers and NL-series accelerometers.

The AT-series pedometers contain the same hairspring-levered internal mechanism as those sold for considerably more money by other pedometer dealers. (They are actually the same
pedometer as Walk4Life pedometers and are made at the same factory. However on the AT-80, we beefed up the clip and repositioned the RESET and MODE buttons so they followed the principles of smart design and still tagged them with a much lower price! Now you can get Walk4Life for less—much less!)  We liked the product for what it could offer (namely, a much lower price-point), but we didn't like the high price.  Therefore, we're selling it at a smaller profit to give more students a chance to experience step-counting and become more active, more often!

You can purchase the AT-series pedometers online by going to
www.new-lifestyles.com or by phone at 816-373-9969 or 1-888-748-5377.
